It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, just not your conventional Christmas

Just one week left until the big day!

So tell me ... are you one of those awesome , nearly perfect people that always have it all together , like being fully prepared for Christmas, months in advance ?!  Lol! Or, are you more like me. You know... you kind of sort of work quite well under pressure and  you tend to leave it for last minute, but somehow it just always works out ?! ( Yikes! That feels a little scary when actually read aloud )!

Here is our little baby !  We were so excited ! Needless to say , there weren’t much to choose from , lol , so this one had to do .

She’s got some missing branches and a few crooked ones , but we still love her ! Lol .

Found the big bulbs for $7 at home depot

After the lights were up, feelings of dissatisfaction started to rise . It looked messy. I couldn’t figure it out.

I️ did know I️ wanted a mix of turquoise and red. Of course I️ went to target . Where else do you go when you want to make sure you find something trendy , cute , ahhhhmazingly unique !? Duhh!

See I know target and I️ are soul mates . The universe proves this to me every time I️ walk in!

See! Same exact theme I had in mind ! The second i saw this I felt pretty darn cool! If target agrees with my style , I know I’m doing something right in my life ! Haha!

Here are some items I bought to go away from the norm. Okay , let’s be real here... I was just  trying to save some money lol!

But seriously! When you allow yourself to Think outside the box , amazing ideas will come to you! I used this super huge bow in place of your traditional tree topper. Super cool , unique , creative , crafty and oh so very affordable!

I used these gifts tags as ornaments !  I just loved the design and the colors ! These are too cute to only be seen on a present whose gift wrapping gets torn apart and left to be thrown away in little tiny pieces .  Heatbreaking!

And how about these fun  little pom Pom thingies!? ( if you know what they are officially called , please inform me ! Lol)

So... in total I spent

$4 for the ribbon @ Target

$3 for the gift tags turned ornaments lol

$4 for the big red bow ( tree topper )

$4 for the Pom Pom thingies ( more ornaments )

$14 for the lights ( $7 each set & Home Depot)

$27 for the tree @ Home Depot

I threw in some old things , like the ball ornaments and angels that were given to me .  I added that big “ smile “ sign. That was actually on my wall but I just felt like trying it out and then I really liked it so I kept it there!

well , my tree certainly isn’t theeee best one out there , and I definitely could have spent more money on it , but my purpose with this post is to encourage you to use your creativity. It really makes it so much fun and it’s always a great thing to save some money!

oh  wait !  Let’s not forget the tree skirt ! I wanted mint or turquoise and I didn’t find one so , I used a blanket ! Lol  yup! You read right, that’s a blanket !

When I first finished the tree , I wasn’t loving it . I kept trying to figure out what I had done wrong. I kept going back to the tree to look at it over and over again. The next morning I woke up at 8 and and went straight to the tree to see if I would feel different about it. Nope! I still was not happy about it . I was kind of feeling like a failure honestly lol. I loved the lights I loved the tree and loved the decor I picked out, but when I saw it altogether , it just didn’t look right. So I consulted my right hand man, ( or lady I should say lol)! She pin pointed it immediately! She says “ no , it’s not something you did wrong. It’s just the tree itself . It’s not very full. It’s just the way it’s branches are . She then sent me a video of a super cool blogger designer girl that was showing her tree and it looked my mine ! I started to feel better about it . Then later that evening as I was washing dishes I looked over to my tree and when I saw how it all came together with the rest of the decor I fell in love with it ! I shared it with my Friend and this was her response , “ Oh wait! You didn’t change anything, you didn’t do anything differently, you just saw it differently”? And I answered ,”yes “!

Then I said “ what a lesson lol , corny but true “. We both laughed and she says “ took a damn tree to teach you something “! Lmao!!!  That was great ! It was so true. Once I was standing at a different place and looking at it from a different angle I was able to see how it all came together with the rest of the decor. I just stared to appreciate the uniqueness of the tree and I felt so happy. So yes the darn tree taught me a lesson! Lol and I share this lesson with you. When you don’t like something , or you are feeling down , sad , unhappy about it , try looking at it from another perspective. Whether that means standing from a different place in the house lol or putting yourself in someone else’s shoes .
